You may have noticed I’ve recently added social media icons at the top of each new recipe post! This is so you can easily save it to find later when you’re ready to make it. One of my favorite social media sites is Yummly (the "Y" icon), which is a lot like a cross between Pinterest and Foodgawker without all of the annoying clutter and ads, and it's also strictly a recipe/food site.
I’m so impressed with their site - especially the variety of recipes and the awesome photos!
So, what do I like about Yummly besides the cute name? It’s so easy to "Yum" (kind of like pinning) and organize recipes to find later. They even have a Yummly bookmark so if you’re at a site that doesn’t have a Yum button, you can click it and save whatever recipe is on the site!
When you sign up they ask you to fill out your personal food preferences. If you need gluten-free, specify that. Love spicy stuff – great! If low salt recipes are a must, just let them know and when you search later it’ll filter the recipes according to your wants and needs. Now that’s helpful!
I love that when you’re on Yummly looking at a recipe, you can run your mouse over the poster’s name and it’ll give you a summary of the ingredients. Click on the photo and you’ll also get a guesstimate at nutritional value. Oh, and you can make a grocery list, and on and on. It’s not cluttered with a bunch of features you don’t want or need and it’s easy to use and organize.
Those are just a few of the reasons I like Yummly and decided to become a Yummly publisher for My Recipe Reviews (and, no, they're not compensating me for this!). You can join in by signing up HERE and putting all your preferences in. While you're there, pop over to MyRecipeReviews at Yummly and browse around!
